ORTHOCLASE FELDSPAR (BROWN) - 25

Orthoclase feldspar (Brown) is a name given to a class of aluminum-containing silicates which form with no cleavage planes. It include orthoclase (KAlSi3O8) and plagioclase ((Ca, Na) AlSi3O8). Note that the plagioclase differs from the orthoclase in terms of the additional metals, plagioclase having calcium or sodium and orthoclase having potassium.

Uses: Feldspar (from the German Feld, field, and Spat, a rock that does not contain ore) is the name of an important group of rock-forming minerals which make up perhaps as much as 60% of the Earth's crust.
