Quartz Epidote Rock : Epidote is a calcium aluminium iron sorosilicate mineral, common in many igneous and metamorphic rocks. It can be green, grey, brown, or nearly black, but is typically a yellowish 'pistachio' green. A rock composed of quartz and epidote is known as epidosite.

Uses: It is mainly used as gemstone. Epidote occurs frequently in igneous and metamorphic rocks of the state's Precambrian shield. It is particular common in metamorphosed basalts and gabbros where it replaces plagioclase, pyroxene and olivine.
